To paraphrase the hardest working man in show business, Paul Newell's gal, Elizabeth Crothers may not know Dan Perrin, but I know Google.
I'm alluding to the hardest working victim in politics denying she knows jack about a guy that just financed (through her) Paul Newell's latest act of political masochism.
To recap, in yesterday's Phase I deconstruction of Crothers, NDG wrote:
Just like Liz don't know Dan Perrin from Dom Perrignon. The guy that took out the governor of the state where Liz makes her living as a GOP political consultant. And she don't know anything about an "agenda." That anyone would actually print this horseshit is simply astounding.
What is even more astounding is that not only does Crothers make her living in CA politics, as NGD states, but she makes her living in CA energy politics. And not only does she make her living in CA energy politics, but she makes her living in "controversial" CA energy politics by cranking LNG numbers for the guy, Arnold Schwarzenegger, who replaced the guy sugar-daddy Dan Perrin took down. And the issue Perrin used to take out Gray Davis? You guessed it. Energy.
Again, Crothers knows nothing. About any of this.
But this is instructive as to what Crothers says when she knows what she doesn't know. This time it's fictitious words from non-fictitious people:
An investigation by The Malibu Times shows that the federal file of comments and evidence about the proposed liquefied natural gas terminal near Malibu includes statements of support from several people who, when contacted by a reporter, said they never made any such comments.
In nearly every case, people who supposedly endorsed specific aspects of BHP Billiton's Cabrillo Port proposal told the newspaper they had never even heard of it, or of any plans to import LNG to California.
And guess what, just like with Dan Perrin's mail drop, and the Free Republic, Crothers doesn't know anything:
Elizabeth Crothers, a Sacramento spokeswoman for Californians for Clean Affordable Safe Energy, the group set up last fall to campaign for the three LNG terminals proposed for California, said, "This is amazing, stunning." Citing the 60 associations and trade groups that support LNG imports, Crothers said "it is mystifying to me why people would need to invent people who support LNG when there are so many people out there in favor of it."
We're amazed and stunned too, Elizabeth, that you keep with the same template, time and again. I mean, say something new like, "The Speaker of the New York State Assembly really did it." Or, "Where's Roy Boy?" Maybe, " Hey, I'm the victim here."
The Malibu Mayor says this of Crother's stunning, amazing stupefaction:
"I'm not surprised at dirty tricks used by the pro-LNG forces," said Malibu Mayor Andy Stern. "We've asked many questions about the adequacy of this EIR (environmental impact report), and this seems to be indicative of a problem with it."
And for what it's worth, we're not surprised either, Mr. Malibu Mayor.
Another of Crother's putative enemies says this of the LNG operation:
"I'm stunned," said LNG opponent Susan Jordan, director of the California Coastal Protection Effort, when told of the findings. "This is a possible fraud, a criminal act. It calls into question the entire environmental document."
The woman is an inveterate hustler. And I'm not talking about Susan Jordan.
I'd really like to know what "progressive" Newell-backers like Roatti and Bouldin think about this orgy of big-time GOP subterfuge and displacement. We've actually made a point a leaving Roatti's post on Newell: Paul Newell is the Stronger Candidate in AD-64 at the top of the Google chart to make sure the world knows that he supports the guy sitting in the middle of another mess. Again.
Of course, we can and will displace Roatti from that position at the date and time and of our choosing. (How's that for some hard-right tactics and wordsmithing?)
